Floure (Aude)

Château de Floure**** Château de Floure****

Built on the Via Aquitania between Narbonne and Toulouse, this former Roman villa, ten minutes away from Carcassonne, became an abbey in the Middle Ages.

Ten centuries later, in the time of Henry IV, a president of the parliament of Toulouse made it his country home. The Château de Floure subsequently became the residence of the writer Gaston Bonheur.

The authenticity of the building is demonstrated with taste and elegance
Today, the Château de Floure offers 21 spacious and elegant bedrooms as well as a heated, indoor pool and jacuzzi. The strong character of the building is shown to advantage by the comfort and elegance of its facilities. The most romantic guests will be unable to resist the temptation of taking a reading break in the large, Bergère sitting room or the formal grounds of the château. Conviviality and a feast for the eyes are on offer in the Restaurant du Poète Disparu, where gourmet food can be discovered whilst admiring the magnificent woodwork and statuettes which adorn the room. The Château de Floure is also a place conducive to deliberation and business and can host seminars of between 30 and 150 people.

30’ flight over the city of Carcassonne, departing from Lézignan-Corbières (20’ from Floure).
