Canoeing, kayaking, canyoning & rafting

The countless rivers, torrents and mountain lakes of Languedoc-Roussillon, along with its tens of reservoirs, offer every kind of watersport: fishing, bathing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting and canyoning.

The turbulent waters of the Dourbie, the Orb, the Hérault, the Tech, the Têt, and the Aude offer perfect conditions for practising all whitewater sports, especially kayaking. Canyoning means following a fast flowing river through narrow gorges and waterfalls, without a boat. You progress along by abseiling or even jumping into the water if necessary. One of the most thrilling courses is the descent of the Llech Gorge, in the Pyrénées-Orientales.

White water sports in Quillan

Not only is the Aude the perfect place for white river rafting, it’s also great for swimming, hydrospeed and kayaking. Away from the rushing waters of the gorges, the river slows to a leisurely pace, ideal for canoeing. Quillan also has a canoe slalom course.
