Dominated by the fortified citadel of Mont Louis, built by Vauban to guard the entrance to the Cerdange, the Pyrenean village of Cabanasse at the crossroads of the Tet Valley and the plateaux of Capcir and Cerdagne, is the starting point for this picturesque route towards Fontpédrouse.

At the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Catalan Pyrenees, the route follows the Tet river and the Yellow Train line, between the station of Cabanasse and Fontpédrouse.

Built at the beginning of the 20th century, the Yellow Train line crosses some of the most spectacular landscape in the Pyrenees. Also, some of its most impressive structures, notably, the Gisclar bridge, an iron suspension bridge, which allows the train to cross the narrow valley of the Tet.

See on the way:

  • The fortifications of the solar furnace of Mont-Louis (at 1km from Cabanasse)
  • The villages of Cabanasse and Fontpédrouse
  • The Gisclar bridge
  • Les Bains de Saint-Thomas
