Regional Contemporary Art Centre - Sète, France
The Regional Contemporary Art Centre (CRAC) of Languedoc-Roussillon in Sète lies on the pathways of artistic communication that travel between Italy and Spain, from North to South, from the West to the East.
The location of the building, the raw quality exuded by the place, its large volumes bound to the memory of its original purpose (fish freezing and conservation centre), make this an original place of great quality. Its architecture allows several exhibitions to be shown at the same time, encouraging the production of work in the region by hosting resident artists and the creation of works scaled to the large exhibition area available.
A place dedicated to research, creation and the diffusion of contemporary art, the CRAC encourages the production of works in the region by hosting resident artists, publishing books, providing artistic education and holding several exhibitions each year. Since 1997, over 250 artists have been presented.
The CRAC is open every day except Tuesdays, from 12:30pm to 7pm and weekends from 2pm to 7pm.
