Cerbère France - Côte Vermeille
Cerbère coils around a narrow inlet cut into the last foothills of the Pyrenees on the Côte Vermeille (‘Vermilion Coast’).
That's the name given to this rocky coast of Roussillon in the 19th century because of the colour of its rocks at sunrise and sunset. The coast is dotted with little villages such as Cerbère and is renowned for the depth of its seas. The solar-powered lighthouse of Cap Cerbère is like the lighthouse at the end of the world. The cliffs to the south of the Cap are among the highest in Europe.
Things to see & do: - the solar lighthouse at Cap Cerbère - the Marine Natural Reserve.
