Portiragnes has a huge beach, covered with fine sand, screened from the urban area by the vegetation that covers the restored dunes. This is a green and leafy family resort, where concrete developments are hidden from view and the environment is protected.

It has held the Blue Flag award from its earliest beginnings. Portiragnes is also a lively sports resort where walkers and cyclists rule supreme, and there are plenty of organised activities. You'll find it difficult not to fall in love with this village, which is bordered by the Canal du Midi, surrounded by vineyards and overlooked by hillsides.
