Stroll along historic pathways in Languedoc Roussillon

Experience the Historic routes in Languedoc-Roussillon, strolling along the Via Domitia, the Canal du Midi and the routes to Santiago de Compostela.

The Roman road known as the Via Domitia (Domitian Way) runs from one end of the region to the other, only 15 miles from the sea, providing a fine way to explore the varied landscapes and history.

The pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostella in Spain, the resting place of St James, run through all of Europe. Languedoc-Roussillon has two of them.

The 175 miles of navigable waterway that makes up the Canal du Midi stretches across the Languedoc plain, with hundreds of bridges and locks making its passage possible.
