The jewellery trade around Perpignan was made famous by the many garnet mines of the Pyrenees. Catalan style jewellery mountings date back to antiquity with the Greeks who used this technique and which has been preserved in this part of the Mediterranean.

The jewellery mounting makes the garnet sparkle thanks to the reflection of light from underneath the stone.

You can visit the garnet factory from June to September and discover the secrets of the manufacturing process and the artistic know-how and talent of our craft workers.
