Festival of the Gargantua

In June, the town of Langogne in Lozère celebrates the Rabelaisian hero Gargantua.

The festivities go on for a whole weekend, and include a craft market, demonstrations of traditional skills such as clog-making, swordfights, farces performed by the Gargouille theatre company, concerts and gargantuan meals.
