The Costières wines of Nîmes

This undulating region slopes gently down from the south of the Rhône Valley towards the Petite Camargue.

The Costières wines of Nîmes makes well-rounded red wines which are generous and aromatic, light and sunny rosés, and classic whites like the Clairette de Bellegarde, which is delicious as an aperitif or with seafood, grilled fish or goat's cheese.

The new red wines are drunk cool and are a good accompaniment to grilled meat or roast game. More mature, they should be served at room temperature with meat cooked in sauce, game or cheese. Set off on the ‘Route de Gard’ to discover this area and its wines. From Comps to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, you will travel through the Lirac and Tavel wine making areas - two of the prestigious ‘crus’ of this region.
