"The Maguelone Labyrinth"

This natural labyrinth of plants at Maguelone, in the middle of the countryside at Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone, offers 3,5 km of games and puzzles that you have to solve in order to go back in time to the period of the Knights and of their Castles.

Lose yourself in a time-warp going back to the time of the knights and of their castles …

Activity levels can be adapted to all age groups and according to what you want out of the experience, which includes various physical activities, enigmas and puzzles to solve, themed educational areas etc …. and there are picnic areas along the trail, which is made up of some 40 different indigenous plant species.

Wide clearings along the trail show how life was in the time of knights and castles. Information boards tell the visitor about the key aspects of a knight’s life in the middle-ages, such as the dubbing ceremony, the chivalry by which he was expected to live, and by which his romantic affairs were structured.

For visitors that want to go further, would-be knights can try to find the Holy Grail and win a prize, if they’ve found the right answers – and the answers are in the clearings …

The walk through the 3.5km of labyrinth is a great way to spend some time as a family, whether you are a page, a squire, a knight or a lord. The trail is suitable for both push-chairs and wheel-chairs.
