La Bambouseraie

La Bambouseraie, or bamboo forest, covers about forty hectares on the edge of the Cevennes, 2km from Anduze.

Bambouseraie The Bamboo Forest - Anduze France

The park was created in 1850, and has over 150 varieties of bamboo, of sequoia and banana trees, and other rare plants ; there are bamboo houses, greenhouses of brightly-coloured flowers, and an aquatic garden.

Above all, however, the Bambouseraie is a place that is alive, attuned to artistic sensitivities, and aims to strike a chord with everyone – whether they came to learn or just to satisfy their curiosity.

Shops: plants, objects in bamboo, pottery, baskets from Asia …… there’s an Asian village, a Japanese garden and pond, and over the years the site has built up a collection of rare tropical plants.

The visit takes about 1h30.
